Job Description

Overview GAT Airline Ground Support is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its team of aviation professionals. Responsibilities Establish safety policies, procedures and working conditions that affect the employee on the job. Communicate safety policies and procedures within the operation. Direct and coordinate activities to provide a safe environment for employees while maintaining fast and efficient services; work in a fast-paced environment with time constraints to meet arrival and departure goals. Conduct monthly safety meetings for all employees. Conduct flight audits, station audits and at-risk behavior audits; participate in monthly company safety conference calls. Communicate safety awareness to all employees, determine manpower requirements for group movements, peak travel periods, out of scope and flight schedule changes in coordination with the Customer. Oversee recruiting and placement to meet staffing requirements and follow Customer standards, procedures and practices. Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies including FAA, OSHA, EPA, US Dept. of Labor and EEOC. Investigate, report and implement corrective action for incidents of aircraft damage or employee injury; conduct coaching and counseling as necessary. Oversee disciplinary actions to ensure proper documentation and consistent policy application. Coordinate purchases for operational needs and ensure adequate supplies. Review payroll and daily hours to ensure salaries and wages stay within budget. Monitor operational irregularities and document/approve out-of-scope costs as needed. Lead weekly Lead/Supervisor meetings; daily briefings with GSE mechanic for equipment updates; participate in shift briefings as required. Ensure compliance with uniform and appearance guidelines; inspect facilities, supply rooms, storage, break rooms and offices. Review daily/weekly/monthly reports (including shift reports, disciplinary actions, incident reports, safety meeting minutes, payroll changes, evaluations, work orders, and other local reports). Investigate service failures including chargeable delays, baggage/cargo/miss-handling. Administer station operational plans (deicing, FOD, safety, winter operations and baggage plans). Complete personnel evaluations on supervisors, administrative staff and GSE mechanics; liaise with customer service, airport authorities and our customer. Respond to and/or investigate concerns reported byCustomer supervisory personnel; attend local airport tenant, security and safety meetings. Perform routine visits to authorities to discuss issues and concerns. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Strong understanding of Ramp Operation Must be at least 18 years old and have basic computer experience (6+ months) and typing at least 35 WPM 4-year college degree in a relevant field strongly preferred or equivalent experience High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience; high attention to detail Ability to read, speak, and understand English fluently Good communication skills; friendly, outgoing personality in person and via telephone Free of disqualifying crimes and able to pass a pre-employment drug test Reliable transportation and ability to work weekends, holidays and days off Other duties as assigned EEO Statement: GAT Airline Ground Support, as an equal opportunity employer, makes hiring decisions based on business needs and the best-qualified candidates available and does not discriminate.
