Description Please be sure to submit a current resume when applying for this position Position Summary The assistant editor of the Adventist Review/Adventist World works under the direction of one of the associate editors in a variety of tasks, many of them routine, in preparing the print and online issues of the Adventist Review . Primarily an "in house" editor, with less travel than an associate editor, but with a high church profile and important responsibilities, including public speaking and serving as a resource person. The role extends beyond just preparing issues. Compensation Full-time exempt position with benefits Remuneration Range: 83-104% ($81k - $97k annually) Benefits Salary employees receive comprehensive benefits packages, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plans. Essential Job Functions Solicit and review manuscripts for inclusion in the magazines. Edit magazine contents, including stories and columns. Oversee social media and website management. Assist with video and media productions. Write editorials or columns monthly and features as assigned. Handle speaking appointments and external committee/commission appointments. Plan and manage special issues and projects. Must be a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Maintain a reliable work schedule. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience Delegated authority by the Editor/Associate Editor. Assist in administrative activities in line with church policies. Responsible to the church body through the Associate Editor. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Extensive knowledge of the church’s principles, policies, and structure. Good human relations skills and ability to handle various circumstances. Proficiency in English language, both verbal and written. Sound judgment, organization, decision-making skills, discipline, editorial skills, teamwork, and public speaking ability.
