Responsibilities Teach several Mandarin courses across multiple proficiency levels for grades 6-12. Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and improve course curriculum as needed. Utilize different teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners. Develop lesson plans and curricula based on the needs of individual students. Conduct research on teaching methods, digital materials, and language games that can be used in class. Schedule and prepare students for oral and written examinations. Organize feedback sessions with students and their parents if applicable. Provide suggestions for further learning and schedule intervention sessions with struggling students. Serve as an advisor for students ensuring student success. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mandarin language, literature, or an equivalent required. Master’s degree preferred. Fluency in Mandarin Chinese required. 2+ years of previous K-12 foreign language teaching experience strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills. Well-organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities. Desired Qualities Willingness to work with middle and high school students. Desire to be involved in school-wide initiatives, athletics, and extracurricular activities.
