Job Title: Claims Adjuster – Workers Compensation
Location: Portland, OR (Onsite or Remote)
Contract Duration: Through December 12, 2025

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster to join our team on a long-term contract assignment. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in handling Oregon workers compensation claims , with strong knowledge of regulations, benefits determination, and settlement negotiation. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can balance claim resolution with client service excellence.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage workers compensation claims, including determining compensability and benefits due on long-term indemnity claims.
Monitor reserve accuracy and ensure compliance with state regulations and company standards.
Develop and manage claims action plans to resolution, including coordinating return-to-work efforts .
Approve and process claim payments pursuant to claim guidelines and client contracts.
Identify and manage subrogation opportunities ; negotiate settlements where applicable.
Communicate claim actions and updates with claimants, clients, and other stakeholders.
Ensure claim files are properly documented and coded accurately.
Handle complex claims, including lifetime medical and defined-period medical cases.
Collaborate with medical professionals, utilization review teams, and regulatory bodies.
Maintain strong, professional client relationships while upholding service excellence standards.
Qualifications
Education & Licensing:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Oregon certification strongly preferred.
Experience:
3–4 years of Oregon workers compensation claims handling experience required.
4+ years of overall claims management experience (or equivalent education/experience).
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of workers compensation regulations, disability duration, offsets/deductions, and medical management practices.
Understanding of Social Security and Medicare application procedures.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including negotiation and presentation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general PC literacy.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Proven ability to meet or exceed service expectations.
