The Senior Grants Management Analyst, as part of the Hazard Mitigation Special Projects Unit, leads the development of initiatives to address state mitigation priorities and leverage emergent state funding opportunities. This includes special statewide initiatives, such as the California Wildfire Mitigation Program, which are implemented in coordination with the Hazard Mitigation Grant Division and other state agencies (e.g., CAL FIRE). Coordinating alongside the California Wildfire Mitigation Program, the analyst supports applicants as they plan and implement residential wildfire mitigation efforts. The analyst manages multiple projects with existing applicants to ensure that program expenses are validated and will support new applicants to ensure that they are following best practices when developing their programs.  

Additionally, the unit undertakes a variety of special projects to support the overall mission of the Hazard Mitigation Section, including data analytics, legislative analysis, development of tools and materials to support outreach and technical assistance, and other activities as needed.

Working Conditions

This position is located in the Hazard Mitigation Unit in Mather

Hybrid Telework: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Additional in office days may be required based on the business need.

Conflict of Interest (COI): This position is desi gnated under the Conflict of Interest Code and is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.

  • Possess the Secretary of the Interior professional qualification standards.
