Job Description

Delivery Lead GDIT R&D – Ipsen The IT Delivery Lead is responsible for driving high‑quality, consistent, and efficient delivery across R&D and Medical Digital & IT initiatives. This role provides cross‑team leadership to agile delivery squads, oversees DevOps practices, and ensures adherence to delivery standards in a regulated (GxP) environment. Main Responsibilities & Technical Competencies Strategic Delivery Enablement Translates IT leadership’s strategic vision into actionable roadmaps, aligning teams and resources to short, mid, and long‑term goals. Align squads and delivery teams with short‑, mid‑, and long‑term goals. Support business agility while ensuring quality, compliance, and transparency. Agile & Team Leadership Lead and coach cross‑functional teams to ensure high performance, focus, and continuous improvement. Promote the use of Agile/SAFe methodologies and support consistent delivery practices across teams. Facilitate sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to drive predictable and transparent delivery. DevOps & Engineering Practices Oversee the implementation and maturity of DevOps practices (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring). Collaborate with infrastructure and development teams to optimize release cycles and system stability. Ensure adoption of modern engineering practices and tooling across delivery teams. Delivery Governance & Standards Establish and enforce delivery frameworks, standards, and best practices across the R&D and Medical Digital & IT portfolio. Monitor delivery KPIs (e.g., velocity, lead time, defect rate) and drive continuous performance improvements. Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements in a GxP or controlled environment. Operational Planning & Coordination Coordinate delivery timelines, dependencies, and resource needs across multiple initiatives and squads. Support capacity planning and help resolve delivery blockers and escalations. Provide visibility to leadership through regular delivery updates and dashboards. Process Improvement & Performance Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or risks in delivery processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Foster a culture of learning and operational excellence through retrospectives, metrics, and feedback loops. Encourage knowledge sharing and process reuse across the organization. Key Stakeholders Collaboration Work closely with Programme Managers, Business Partners, Product Owners, and Tech Leads to ensure alignment on scope, timing, and quality of deliverables. Translate delivery data into actionable insights to support prioritisation and decision‑making. Ensure alignment across IT and business teams on scope, timing, and quality expectations. Knowledge, Abilities & Experience Education / Certifications Preferred: Master’s degree, 6‑7 years of experience, including at least three years directing projects. Minimum: Master’s degree, 4‑5 years of experience, including at least one to two years directing projects. Project Management training and certification desirable (PMP) but not required. Experience Proven experience leading IT delivery in a matrixed and regulated environment (ideally in pharma or life sciences). Solid knowledge of purchasing/legal practices and of the IT management process. Strong knowledge of the technology landscape for Medical Affairs and Operations, including IT systems for Pt. Centricity, Promotional & Scientific Material Review, Investigator Sponsored Studies, Medical Information Inquiry, Grants, Portfolio Management and Executive reporting. Proven ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence. Ten or more years of progressively responsible IT experience, with sensitivity and commitment to business problem‑solving or ten years with responsibilities in business department and/or IT projects as project owner. Demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams and managing several external partners. Knowledge of project management methodology and experience or familiarity with major defined PM approaches (e.g., PMI, Prince II or Agile). Effective influencing and negotiating skills in an environment where this role may not directly control resources. Languages English, with French preferred. Key Technical Competencies Required Agile & Project Management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, SAFe, PMP, Prince2), GxP compliance and IT quality standards. Familiarity with IT systems supporting Medical Affairs and Clinical Development performance monitoring, delivery metrics, and continuous improvement. Solid experience in the management of matrixed and transverse projects, potentially over several years. The annual base salary range for this position is $217,500–$319,000. This job is eligible to participate in our short‑term incentives program.
