Job Description

Director, Marketing And Communications

The Director, Marketing and Communications leads advertising, digital marketing, media relations, internal communications, and community engagement in partnership with the Vice President and managers. The role works closely with executive leadership, clinical departments, and external partners to ensure consistent and effective messaging across all platforms and a return on marketing investments.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field. Master's degree, preferred.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None.

Work Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, or related field, including 5 years in healthcare marketing or communications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong understanding of healthcare trends, regulations, and best practices. Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities with a collaborative work style. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to various audiences with cultural competence. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior executives. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines. Strong leadership skills, with proven ability to build, mentor, and coach a high-performing team. Outstanding presentation skills.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements integrated marketing and communication strategies that align with organizational priorities and enhance brand awareness.
  • Leads and mentors a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Directs media relations and crisis communication strategies in partnership with the Communication Manager, serving as a spokesperson when needed.
  • Leads planning process with service lines and departments to identify market ready priorities and execute tactical plans related to each initiative.
  • Leads targeted marketing efforts including management of the Customer Relations Management tool, email, direct mail and other paid advertising including digital.
  • Supports internal communication plans that promote employee engagement and alignment with organizational values.
  • Leads audience research efforts designed to identify competitive landscape and areas of opportunity for growth and engagement both internally and externally.
  • Measures and reports on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and communication efforts using data-driven insights.
  • Manages relationships with advertising agencies and other vendors that support marketing and communication functions.
  • Develops and maintains annual budgets including reconciliation and tracking reports and management of campaign and media spending.
  • Ensures compliance with healthcare regulations and brand standards in all marketing and communication activities.
  • Stays current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in healthcare marketing and communications.

Decision Making: Independent judgment in making decisions from many diversified alternatives that are subject to general review in final stages only.

Working Relationships: Direct supervision of others. Prepares and gives performance evaluations. Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with individuals at Director level or above.
