We are currently seeking a full-time Environmental Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer for our Cincinnati, OH office. This is an excellent opportunity to join and grow EnSafe, getting involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients across the globe.

EnSafe’s Environmental Compliance specialists participate in evaluating the compliance status of industrial facilities, assisting them with applying for and complying with various environmental permits, and helping identify and comply with other environmental obligations. EnSafe is committed to providing pragmatic, cost-effective strategies for maintaining compliance, minimizing liabilities, and improving environmental performance.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will be:

The successful candidate will be trained to navigate local, state, and federal regulations combined with the ability to prepare technical documents, reports, and proposals.

  • Performing environmental inspections at client facilities
  • Developing and revising various environmental written programs (SPCC Plans, stormwater plans, groundwater protection plans, waste minimization plans, air permit applications, etc.)
  • Completing annual EPCRA reports (e.g., Tier 2, TRI) and submittal via online reporting platforms (NetDMR, EPA CDX system, etc.)
  • Performing air emission calculations and reporting
  • Regulatory research and interpretation
  • Environmental sample collection, monitoring, and reporting (soil sampling, hazardous waste characterization sampling, stormwater sampling, wastewater sampling)
  • Management of health and safety during field work

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:

  • BS in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, or equivalent sciences
  • 1-2 years of prior environmental consulting experience is preferred (including co-ops and internships)
  • Effective written/verbal communication, presentation, and organization/analytical skills; experience authoring detailed technical reports and plans
  • Strong organizational and time management skills while working on multiple projects for multiple project managers and clients. Candidates must be meticulous and exhibit good listening and note-taking skills.
  • Regular travel to client locations (local and regional) with occasional travel nationally. Some trips will be overnight and maybe for extended periods. Candidates must be willing and able to work independently with little to no oversight in certain circumstances.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Programs
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid Driver’s license required.
