Equipment Operator
GENERAL NATURE OF POSITION:
The main purpose of the Equipment Operator I position is to move pallets of product to and from various departments throughout the Distribution Center. This comprehension entails knowing the basic functions and controls of the PIT equipment, being able to take daily directions from leadership, and to have the understanding to know how your role affects others within the warehouse. This role is essential in learning to become/transition to an Equipment Operator II and advancing within the company. This is an entry level position for those with little to no PIT experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
% OF TIME ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: List in order of importance, the 5 essential job functions and estimate the percentage of time spent on each. Total must equal 100%.
75% Spent doing essential job functions as needed.
10% Time off PIT equipment to assist with general warehouse labor functions.
5% Cross-training in other functions/departments.
5% General housekeeping of department.
5% Completing PIT inspection reports.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required qualifications needed in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.

High School Diploma or GED

Skills/Competencies:
SPECIAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to write and read simple correspondence.
- Ability to learn to operate PIT equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, stand, and walk repeatedly
- Ability to apply common sense and carry out instructions.
- Ability to understand all functions through training.
- Ability to follow safety procedures.
- Highly motivated, a team-player, and self-starter.
- Must display sense of control and confidence while operating PIT equipment.
- Less than 6 months PIT experience.
Safety
- Must be able to identify, call out and fix everyday safety concerns/hazards on PIT equipment.
- Must be able to clearly document and communicate any PIT safety concerns/hazards to Leadership and LP/Safety and Training Team.
- Foster a safety culture and address in the moment any PIT safety concerns/hazards with fellow operator.
- Stay up to date with all PIT safety topics and operating procedures via Leadership and LP/Safety and Training Team.
- Be able to follow all PIT safety procedures from PIT training, Buddy Training and while operating on the production floor.
