Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver Company: Agape HPC Location: Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Merrillville and surrounding areas. We specialize in Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) services, helping individuals in need of reliable transportation to and from medical appointments. We are currently seeking responsible and compassionate drivers to join our team and operate company vehicles to ensure the safe and timely transport of our clients. Job Description: As a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver, you will be responsible for transporting clients to and from medical appointments, treatment facilities, and other healthcare-related locations. You will drive a company-provided van and ensure that clients are transported in a safe, courteous, and professional manner, adhering to all Medicaid and company standards. Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport clients to and from medical appointments, following predetermined schedules.
  • Assist clients in entering and exiting the vehicle, including the use of wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility aids.
  • Operate wheelchair lifts and securement systems when needed.
  • Ensure the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and inspected regularly for safety and reliability.
  • Follow all traffic laws and regulations, ensuring safe driving practices at all times.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns during transport.
  • Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and client interactions, in compliance with Medicaid standards.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare providers, and clients.
  • Attend safety and compliance training as required by Medicaid regulations.
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age (for insurance purposes).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and driving record verification, per Medicaid standards.
  • Previous experience as a driver or working with individuals with disabilities, seniors, or in healthcare is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to safely operate a company vehicle, including operating wheelchair lifts and securing clients.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with clients.
  • Knowledge of local roadways and medical facilities is a plus.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively.
  • Must have the physical ability to assist clients in and out of the vehicle and operate wheelchair equipment.
