JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Preschool Teacher's Aid
Reports To: Principal of School & Pastor of All Souls Parish
Office/ Dept: Department of Catholic Schools
FLSA Status: Part time, Non Exempt (16 hours / week)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
? Classroom Support: Assist the preschool director/teacher in preparing materials, setting up activities, and maintaining an organized and stimulating classroom environment.
? Student Assistance: Provide support to individual and small groups of students during instructional activities, helping them understand tasks and providing encouragement.
? Behavioral Guidance: Help manage classroom behavior by implementing established rules and routines and addressing any issues under the supervision of the lead teacher.
? Lesson Execution: Aid in the implementation of lesson plans and educational activities, using tools and technology as directed by the lead teacher.
? Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with the lead teacher, parents, and school staff regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.
? Supervision: Supervise students during non-classroom times, including paytime, meals, and field trips, ensuring their safety and well-being.
? Administrative Assistance: Perform clerical duties such as copying, filing, and organizing instructional materials as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
? Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with young children, teachers, parents, and staff.
? Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and maintain an orderly classroom environment.
? Patience and Adaptability: Patience and flexibility in dealing with preschool-aged children and adapting to various classroom situations.
? Cultural Sensitivity: Ability to work in a diverse cultural setting, respecting and valuing different backgrounds and perspectives.
