Join to apply for the Robotics Engineer, Deployment & Testing role at Skild AI

Company Overview

At Skild AI, we are building the world's first general purpose robotic intelligence that is robust and adapts to unseen scenarios without failing. We believe massive scale through data-driven machine learning is the key to unlocking these capabilities for the widespread deployment of robots within society. Our team consists of individuals with varying levels of experience and backgrounds, from new graduates to domain experts. Relevant industry experience is important, but ultimately less so than your demonstrated abilities and attitude. We are looking for passionate individuals who are eager to explore uncharted waters and contribute to our innovative projects.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Robotics Engineer specializing in Deployment & Testing to help further the performance and capabilities of Skild AI’s high-level software and products through formalized, rigorous testing. You will design and implement automated software tests and the ecosystems in which they run. As a critical member of the robotics team, you will play an important role in defining the quality standards of our software while accelerating its development.

Responsibilities

  1. Define, implement, and maintain comprehensive regression tests for Skild AI’s software and products.
  2. Design and organize test plans according to priority, impact, risk, and feasibility.
  3. Debug and troubleshoot failures in complex scenarios during testing and deployment at customer sites.
  4. Maintain robots and ensure they are deployment ready.
  5. Recreate corner cases from production logs into repeatable tests.
  6. Collaborate closely with robotic software developers and machine learning engineers to improve product quality and meet customer expectations.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. BS, MS or higher degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  2. Proficiency in low-level systems languages (C, C++, Rust, Go) and Python.
  3. Experience with complex software systems working in real-time with embedded systems.
  4. Experience with Test Management and Requirements software.
  5. Experience with ROS/ROS2 or other robotics middleware platforms.
  6. Previous work experience as a Test Engineer.
  7. Experience developing and deploying software on real robots.
  8. Strong understanding of software engineering principles, algorithms, data structures, and system design.
  9. Familiarity with machine learning deployment in robotic systems.

Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $300,000 USD
