Salary: $44,959 - $64,952 per year

This is a full-time position. Selectees will work 12-hour shifts - nights, weekends, and holidays.
The promotion potential of this position is GS-07. However, this position may be filled at a lower-grade. Approved subsequent promotion(s) may be made without further competition. Promotion up to the GS-07 level is neither guaranteed nor automatic.
To qualify for this position, you must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. You must be suitable for federal employment, determined by a background investigation. You must meet any minimum experience requirements (see Qualifications). You must maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times as the position requires operation of government vehicles on government and public roads. You will be required to wear the Reclamation issued uniform while working. You will be required to obtain a successful pre-employment physical examination by a licensed physician certifying your ability to perform the duties of this position. You will be required to submit to a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment as a condition of employment. This position is also subject to random drug testing. You must successfully complete an intensive 8-10 week basic training conducted at Grand Coulee.
In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume. To qualify at the GS-06, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-05 level in federal service having demonstrated experience working with a Federal, State, municipal, local, or private organization that involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; or maintaining order and protecting life. To qualify at the GS-07, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-06 level in federal service having demonstrated experience working with a Federal, State, municipal, local, or private protective organization that involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; or maintaining order and protecting life.
This position does not allow substituting education for experience.
The cut-off dates are April 11, 2025; June 20, 2025; August 15, 2025; October 10, 2025; December 19, 2025; and February 13, 2026. Initial consideration will be given to candidates whose applications have been received before the first cut-off date. Qualification requirements must be met for those applications submitted by the first cut-off date.
The selectees will be paid an additional 25% of basic salary for working Sundays, 10% of basic salary for working nights and pay for working holidays.
