About the Opportunity We’re hiring an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy and roadmap for eLxr Pro, our commercial Debian distribution. Launched in 2024, eLxr Pro addresses challenges of edge-to-cloud deployments, providing a secure, lightweight enterprise Linux based on Debian. As Product Manager, you will own the end-to-end strategy and roadmap, gather input from customers, sales, market research, support teams, and partners, and define the future of enterprise Linux at Wind River with a focus on the edge. You will manage existing projects, collaborate with other product managers, write requirements, justify investments, prioritize backlogs, conduct market research, analyze competitors, support sales, review defects, and evangelize eLxr Pro and Project internally and externally. You will work closely with experienced Engineering and Product Management teams. About You You are an experienced business leader passionate about building great software with an affinity for open-source software, Linux, and related tools and technologies. 8+ years managing the entire product lifecycle, from concept to end-of-life Experience managing open-source products or projects, with Linux-based products preferred Experience with strategic planning, roadmap development, feature prioritization, Agile methodologies, Product Owner role, and project management Experience writing requirements for engineering Ability to apply business rationalization to a technical product Excellent understanding of the Linux ecosystem and open source for enterprise Knowledge of security, containerization, orchestration, cloud technologies (containers, base images, Kubernetes) Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills Excellent presentation, public speaking, and advocacy skills Experience supporting customers, partners, and solution design Ability to navigate product, services, marketing, strategy, and technical discussions Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Engineering, Computer Science, or MBA is a plus Moderate travel (5-10%) may be required. Must be a US or Canadian citizen residing in Walnut Creek, CA; San Diego, CA; or Boston, MA, with ability to be onsite 3 days/week. Compensation : The annual base salary range is $195,000 to $220,200 plus bonuses for MA and CA residents, and $220,000 to $270,000 plus bonuses for SF Bay Area residents. Salaries are determined based on experience, skills, location, and internal equity.
