The Timeframe For This Internship is: May 13, 2024 - August 9, 2024
What you get to do:
As a (Intern, Safety/Environmental), you will
* Conduct ambassador accident investigations and provide root cause analysis and corrective action solutions at SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica Orlando, and Discovery Cove.
* Enter incident information into computer database systems and trend data as requested.
* Conduct field audits within the parks
* Complete special projects as assigned and present results to leadership
* Assist Safety/Environmental Leadership Team with chemical management audits, reviews, and requests.
* Assist Safety Team with PPE annual reviews.
* Provide exceptional, professional guest service in a team environment.
* Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
What it takes to succeed:
* Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health and Safety, Risk Management or a related field preferred
* Must be seeking a four-year degree or Master's degree at an accredited college/university
* Must have completed at least one semester at a college/university at time of application
* Must have completed at least 12 credit hours (not including dual-enrollment) at time of application
* Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA at time of application
* Possession of a valid Driver's License
* Ability to meet company driving guidelines
* Ability to communicate effectively.
What else is important:
* Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
* Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed
* Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
* Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, and cold/heat temperature extremes
Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals
* Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
* Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities.
