Title: Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer
Locations: Portland, OR 97225
Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (07:00 - 17:30)
Traveler Weekly Blended Pay : $2607 weekly ($23/hr w2 + $1687/week stipend)
Locals Hourly Pay : $57/Hour

Position Summary:

• The ECHO Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic echocardiograms on patients to assist in the diagnosis of cardiovascular conditions.
• This role involves operating ultrasound equipment, recording results, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, with a strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and excellent patient care skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform echocardiograms on patients to assess heart function and detect abnormalities
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment ensuring it functions correctly
• Explain procedures to patients and address any concerns they may have
• Review and interpret preliminary results, highlighting any abnormal findings for the cardiologist
• Record and store echocardiogram images and patient information in the medical records system
• Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare team members to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment
• Follow safety protocols and infection control procedures to ensure patient and staff safety
• Monitor patient vitals and response during the procedure to ensure their well-being
• Maintain continuing education and stay updated with advances in echocardiography technology and practices
• Provide emotional support to patients and their families during the diagnostic procedure

Required Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer
• Current BLS from AHA
• ARDMS
