The prime candidate will have experience with a range of sensitive legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence, and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high-stress situations. If you are passionate about helping people navigate some of the most difficult challenges they may face in their lives, start your application today.

Compensation:

$115,000 - $150,000 yearly

Responsibilities:
  • Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed
  • Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current
  • Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action
  • Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients
  • Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process

This position will be responsible for important work, including:

  • Manage full case-handling responsibilities from inception through resolution
  • Independently handle decision-making on a case-by-case basis.
  • Develop a strategic approach and provide leadership and direction to paralegals and legal assistants
  • Work as part of a team with all levels of experience and be open to cross-training for coverage outside the associate duties.
  • Cultivate relationships with the firm's existing and future clients.
  • Analyze case-specific legal issues and documentation
  • Foster and maintain an excellent rapport with clients through consistent communication and thorough advisement
Qualifications:
  • Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferred
  • Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required
  • Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations
  • Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants
  • Bachelor’s degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are required
